For two days, private artists’ studios, artist-run spaces, galleries, and independent publishing projects open their doors to the city with special activations and extended hours. More than 40 artists, creative spaces, and independent initiatives come together to create a city-wide program of exhibitions, performances, site-specific interventions, studio visits, and moments of dialogue. Festival
The Festival’s main edition returns to the Historic Center from October 8–11. With a program of over 150 events running 24 hours a day for four days, the city center becomes a dynamic and creative playground: from concerts and performances in squares and alleyways — from Piazza Navona to Piazza dell’Oro — to public art interventions, secret parties in iconic venues, workshops in artisan studios, and open galleries. The aim is to strip Rome of its perception as a static, museum-like city in decline, revealing instead its contemporary, vibrant, and creative identity.
Readings in restaurants, secret concerts in garages, rooftop DJ sets, wine tastings in an antiques shop, matinees and late-night spaghetti dinners at the theater, stand-up comedy in bars, gospel music in a former cinema, exhibitions at a body shop, screenings and live music in the back room of a bakery. These are just some of the events of the first edition of Romadiffusa, which spotlighted Trastevere Ripa, opening hidden courtyards, dozens of artisan workshops, workshops, art galleries, and private studios to the public, and enlivening the neighborhood's alleys and squares with music and traveling performances.

For the second edition, we chose the Historic Center, with the aim of depicting the creative and dynamic side of Rome by activating the area and its dynamic and creative currents, stripping it of its perception of a city with only a glorious past, revealing its widespread and varied contemporaneity.

For the third edition of ROMADIFFUSA, we return to the historic center, aiming to reach the symbolic heart of the city, where the hybridization of the historic and the contemporary can produce its most powerful effects. Roving performances through the alleyways, secret concerts in the city center's squares and historic shops, open courtyards of historic buildings, installations, public art, workshops, and open studios by artists and artisans, with some special openings: live experimental music and performances in the courtyards of Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza and Palazzo Antonelli, a concert by Mnnqns at Palazzo Altemps, morning stand-up comedy in a bakery, and live electronic music among the antique volumes of the Biblioteca Vallicelliana.

The central edition of the Festival returns to the Historic Center on the weekend of October 16-19. With a program of over 150 events, 24 hours a day, for four days, the historic center becomes a dynamic and creative playground: from concerts and performances in the squares and alleyways, from Piazza Navona to Piazza dell’Oro, to performances and public art, to secret parties in iconic locations, to workshops in artisan workshops and open galleries. The goal is to strip Rome of its static and decadent "museum city" perception, revealing the city's contemporary, dynamic, and creative side.

Parioli Punk takes over the Parioli and Pinciano districts with disruptive, unconventional content—playing with contrasts and unexpected juxtapositions in an area traditionally seen as upper-class and conformist. The centerpiece of the festival is the takeover of The Hoxton Rome, which, for three days, 24 hours a day, from lounge to veranda to hotel rooms, is transformed into an immersive environment of artistic and musical experimentation.

Romadiffusa continues its mission to invite both locals and visitors to rediscover Rome’s lesser-known spaces. Romadiffuxa x The Planetarium took over the venue for three days, unfolding between its imposing rationalist colonnade and the 14-meter starry dome. The event featured immersive soundscapes, installations, and live performances.

A special spin-off inside the Acquario Romano, marking the closing of the Rome Architecture Festival. A site-specific intervention that expands the narrative of the city through sound, performance, and installations designed to engage with the monumental space. An evening program unfolding between the garden and the interior, featuring a double DJ set and Twirls by Francesca Heart: an audio-video work that transforms domestic tools into poetic and sonic devices, inspired by marine biology and water-related Mediterranean mythologies.

"Christmas Do It Yourself" is the theme of ROMADIFFUSA’s Christmas Edition—an invitation to experience the act of gift-giving, and the moments leading up to it, in a different way. This edition emphasizes craftsmanship, sustainability, community networks, and the most valuable resource we all have: time. For this edition, Roma Capitale is fully engaged, actively supporting and endorsing the format. The initiative aligns with the city's vision of reshaping its narrative—placing citizens and local communities at the center of a dialogue with institutions. With its widespread reach across different districts and diverse audiences, the project fosters a new urban storytelling through innovative content and tools. Closing the edition was the Mombao concert in the old Acquaforte Ferranti print shop.

A “widespread market” where gifts reclaim their original meaning—not just anonymous objects hastily bought online or in crowded shopping streets, but thoughtfully chosen presents in an atmosphere of celebration, local heritage, and appreciation for independent brands. The historic venues of Rione Trastevere Ripa hosted a more humanized holiday shopping experience, spotlighting local and sustainable brands—pioneers in design, publishing, and artistic perfumery. Through artisan-led workshops, visitors also had the chance to witness the creative process behind each piece, adding depth and authenticity to their holiday shopping. The market was accompanied by live music, DJ sets, cinema matinees, street portraits, and public performances.

To celebrate the opening of Uniqlo in Galleria Alberto Sordi, inactive since 2022, ROMADIFFUSA expanded the scope of its "Secret Rome", mapping the area around the store in search of authentic places that reflect the city's dynamic and creative ecosystem. The initiative featured a curated program of experiences and a fanzine guiding visitors through the alleys surrounding the gallery—tracing artisan workshops, art spaces, and iconic bars that perfectly embody the spirit of a city that, while constantly evolving, remains true to itself.
